Gallatin Valley Newcomers Club Supports Local Nonprofits

Annual Fundraiser
GVNC members annually raise funds to support local nonprofits, in recognition of the critical services they provide to our community. Applications are solicited and our membership votes on the organization(s) to receive the funds raised in that year. In the last 10 years, we have raised and donated over $240,000 through our annual fundraising events.
General information about our Fundraising process:
Each year, applications are received and the membership votes to select which organization will receive the funds raised. The organization receiving the most votes from our membership will receive the proceeds of our fall fundraiser.

Grant Application Submissions for 2026 are now closed. We will be accepting 2027 grant applications again in October 2026.
GVNC’s 2026 Grant Recipient Chosen!
Thank you to our GVNC members who participated in our March vote to select this year’s nonprofit grant recipient. Among the well-deserving organizations on the ballot, the Montana Backpack Program received the most votes from participating members and will be GVNC’s 2026 fundraising beneficiary.

Supporting Unhoused Students in Belgrade and Bozeman
Co-founded eight years ago by Tiffani Pimley and Anna Edwards, this fully volunteer‑run program supports unhoused students in Belgrade, Bozeman, and Gallatin high schools. These teens may be couch‑surfing, living in vehicles, or navigating unstable or unsafe home situations. School often provides their only consistent access to warmth, meals, and basic hygiene.
Long winter breaks can be especially challenging. To help bridge this gap, the Montana Backpack Program provides new backpacks filled with warm socks, a blanket, snacks, personal‑care items, small gifts, and handwritten holiday cards — a reminder that each student is seen and supported. Gift cards for food and entertainment, blankets, and essentials are among the most appreciated items.
The program relies entirely on community generosity — both financial contributions and donated goods. Local partners such as Ambient Air Solutions, Edward Jones offices, Northwestern Mutual Montana, Styx Yarn Shop, Kenyon Noble, Urban Fitness, Leavitt Group, and The Rock serve as drop‑off locations each year.
You’ll hear more about the Montana Backpack Program as we prepare for our fall fundraising drive. Donations open in September, and program representatives will join us for lunch early in the season. Thank you in advance for your support of this meaningful effort.

Support for our Local Food Bank
The Gallatin Valley Newcomers Club is also a strong supporter of the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Members generously contribute food and money to the Food Bank at our monthly coffees and luncheons.
