Gallatin Valley Newcomers Club Supports Local Nonprofits

Annual Fundraiser
GVNC members annually raise funds to support local nonprofits, in recognition of the critical services they provide to our community. Applications are solicited and our membership votes on the organization(s) to receive the funds raised in that year. In the last 10 years, we have raised and donated over $240,000 through our annual fundraising events.
General information about our Fundraising process:
Each year, applications are received and the membership votes to select which organization will receive the funds raised. The organization receiving the most votes from our membership will receive the proceeds of our fall fundraiser.

GVNC’s 2025 Fundraising to Benefit Befrienders
The fundraising part of our 2025 fundraiser benefiting Befrienders is now complete. A check will be awarded to the Befrienders organization at the December 4 Holiday Event at Riverside Country Club. Results will be reported after that event.

Combating the Impacts of Social Isolation on Seniors
Befrienders is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of socially isolated seniors in the Gallatin Valley through meaningful social connections with volunteer companions and community engagement. Our mission is to reduce loneliness and foster resilience by providing both long-term companionship and short-term, task-oriented assistance that empowers seniors to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Through companionship, support, and advocacy, Befrienders positively impacts the physical, emotional, and mental health of aging adults. Seniors who participate in our programs report feeling less lonely, more engaged, and more connected to their community. By bridging the gap between generations and addressing the challenges of aging, Befrienders strengthens both individuals and the broader community—ensuring that no senior has to navigate this stage of life alone.
Our 2025 fundraising effort assists Befrienders in increasing their capacity to help more seniors by:
- Volunteer Recruitment and Training
- Staff Expansion and Development
- Technology Infrastructure and Enhancement
- Community Outreach and Awareness

Support for our Local Food Bank
The Gallatin Valley Newcomers Club is also a strong supporter of the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Members generously contribute food and money to the Food Bank at our monthly coffees and luncheons.
