GVNC’s 2025 Fundraising to Benefit Befrienders

The Gallatin Valley Newcomers Club, a social and charitable organization, annually undertakes a fundraising campaign with proceeds benefiting a local nonprofit chosen by a vote of the membership. This year our membership voted to raise funds for Befrienders.

Combating the Impacts of Social Isolation on Seniors

Befrienders is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of socially isolated seniors in the Gallatin Valley through meaningful social connections with volunteer companions and community engagement. Our mission is to reduce loneliness and foster resilience by providing both long-term companionship and short-term, task-oriented assistance that empowers seniors to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Through companionship, support, and advocacy, Befrienders positively impacts the physical, emotional, and mental health of aging adults. Seniors who participate in our programs report feeling less lonely, more engaged, and more connected to their community. By bridging the gap between generations and addressing the challenges of aging, Befrienders strengthens both individuals and the broader community—ensuring that no senior has to navigate this stage of life alone.

Our 2025 fundraising effort will assist Befrienders in increasing their capacity to help more seniors by:

  • Volunteer Recruitment and Training
  • Technology Infrastructure and Enhancement
  • Community Outreach and Awareness
  • Staff Expansion and Development

Our 2025 fundraising effort will begin at our September Interest Group Social.  Mark your calendar for September 4, 2025 and watch our upcoming monthly newsletters for more details.
