Heart of the Organization – Catherine Hogan Kalmanson

Catherine Hogan Kalmanson has been a vital and dedicated member of the Gallatin Valley Newcomers Club (GVNC) almost from the moment she arrived in Bozeman. Her extensive service and unwavering commitment have made a lasting impact on our organization across numerous roles and initiatives.

Catherine began her formal leadership within GVNC by joining the Board of Directors as Membership Chair in 2018, a position she held with distinction through 2022. Her dedication to welcoming and retaining members has helped foster the sense of community that defines our club.

Beyond her role as Membership Chair, Catherine has made significant contributions in a variety of capacities. She has been a valued member of the Fundraising Committee since 2020, consistently helping to support and enhance the club’s charitable goals. She also contributed her time and energy to the Excursion Committee in both 2017–2018 and again in 2021.

Catherine chaired the Picnic Committee in 2021 and 2022, as well as the Holiday Party Committee in 2022, bringing enthusiasm and exceptional organizational skills to these beloved events. Additionally, she has served on several strategic subcommittees, including those formed to address growing membership and to encourage greater volunteer participation within the club.

Her ongoing contributions continue today. Catherine remains active on the Fundraising Committee, maintains luncheon name tags, and graciously hosts Mingle & Munch coffees and book club gatherings in her home. Many of her efforts occur quietly behind the scenes, but their value is widely felt and deeply appreciated.For her consistent dedication, leadership, and tireless volunteerism, Catherine Hogan Kalmanson truly embodies the Heart of the Organization.
