Each year the Gallatin Valley Newcomers Board of Directors chooses a member who embodies the heart of the organization. In addition to recognizing this outstanding volunteer at the club’s annual meeting, GVNC also makes a donation to the nonprofit selected by the awardee in her name. On April 4, 2024, the Heart of the Organization Award was presented to GVNC member Paula Hurlbert for her many years of continuing service to our club in a variety of roles. Congratulations to Paula!
Paula has been an amazing volunteer for GVNC. As our Treasurer from 2013-2019, she brought our accounting into the 21st century by upgrading us to a laptop computer, customizing our book accounts into Quickbooks and converting all GVNC’s paper documents to digital storage. Paula instituted credit card processing for our club and introduced online auctioning for our past Auction Fundraisers. As our Vice President and then President from 2019- 2022, she kept our club active through Covid via both near-term and long range plans to keep us all involved in our Club.
A volunteer since she joined Newcomers, Paula continues to donate her time and expertise as our back up Historian, photographing many of our GVNC events. She has also just volunteered to help book speakers for next fiscal year’s programs.
Thank you, Paula. We could not have done all this without you!!!!
