SUMMARY:EXCURSION:  Gates of the Mountains Boat Tour
DESCRIPTION:May 2026 Board Meeting\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor over 125 years guests have been following in the path of Lewis and Clark exploring the “Gates of the Mountains”. Located 20 miles north of Helena\, the 2-hour boat tour is operated by the Gates of the Mountains Inc\, whose goal is to protect\, educate\, and allow visitors to explore one of the last best places.  \n\n\n\nGreat towering walls of limestone still stand guard over the river. From the vessel you can see Mann Gulch\, the site of the raging forest fire that killed 13 smokejumpers\, August 5\, 1949. \n\n\n\nNear Mann Gulch the pilot will hug the shoreline to give you a look at Indian pictographs painted on the rock wall. The tour’s main attraction\, though\, is the inexhaustible scenery. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMembers:  Log in for more details and to register \n\n\n\nGuests of members are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:May 2026 Board Meeting\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nButte\, Montana\, was once one of the largest cities in the American Northwest. It attracted people from all around the world because of the mining being carried on there. \n\n\n\nWe will go on a guided tour 100 feet into the Orphan Girl Mine at 10:30 am to see the original shaft station. On this walking tour\, you will view one of the few exposed veins in North America that can be seen by the public.  We will also spend some time looking at the World Museum of Mining exhibits. \n\n\n\n\n\nAfter lunch\, we will have a guided tour of the spectacular frescoed interior of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church  [Serbian Orthodox Patriarchate].  Butte was home to a large population of Serbian immigrants who came from the area at the crossroads of Central and Southeastern Europe (formerly eastern Yugoslavia). \n\n\n\nGuests are welcome! \n\n\n\nMembers:  Login for more details and to register. \n\n\n\n\n\nLimited number of spots available
