Welcome to the Gallatin Valley Newcomers Club (GVNC)

Our Club is a local, non-profit, social and fund-raising organization made up of a delightful mix of new and current residents who share an interest in meeting new people and learning about the community. If you are moving to the Bozeman area, have just moved here, or simply want to meet some new people, GVNC has a lot to offer you.

Our Purpose — Gallatin Valley Newcomers Club (GVNC) was created to accomplish these goals:
      • Develop friendships among new residents, as well as existing residents, of the community;
      • Help new residents assimilate into the civic and social activities of the area, and
      • Raise funds for local charities.

Members live throughout the valley — Bozeman, Belgrade, Four Corners, Manhattan, Gallatin Gateway and more. This is your opportunity to become part of an active and vibrant organization where you can develop new and lasting relationships.  To find out more on how to join our organization, go to our Join Us page.

GREETINGS!  And welcome to the GVNC website.   Our motto:  “Yesterday I met a stranger… today that stranger is my friend” describes what this organization accomplishes perfectly.  Come meet new people and engage in activities you enjoy with like-minded women through our Monthly Coffees, Monthly Luncheons, and many various Interest Groups to join.  Members include true newcomers to the Gallatin Valley as well as those who have called the valley home for many years.  There are wonderful women to meet and friendships to forge.  Come to a coffee or luncheon so we can get to know you and you can experience the warmth of our organization.

Betsy Day, President

The monthly luncheons are usually the first Thursday of the month at the Riverside Country Club.  Members meet to socialize before the buffet lunch which always includes gluten-free items.  Our luncheons have programs with very interesting speakers from throughout the valley who present programs on various topics or we may have a fashion show or a musical performance by a local musician or group.

In addition, members bring food donations which are then delivered to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.   Each luncheon there is a different theme for the food donations.  Over the years, we have donated thousands of pounds of food to the Food Bank.

Deadline for application was August 1.

Our annual fundraiser each year is our Charity Auction, Luncheon and Bake Sale, which features both silent and live auctions.  The charity recipients of this event are selected by a vote of the members at the September luncheon.  We are proud of the many thousands of dollars we have raised over the years for local charities.  We have a 501(c)(3) status by the IRS, which assures that the monies raised will be appropriately distributed.

Over the years, GVNC has donated to many local charities — some with national affiliation, others locally grown. We’re pleased to report over $100,000 in donations to these deserving causes. Our financial help to these organizations has increased substantially over the years, from just $225 in the first year (1989) to over $20,000 in 2017.   Click on Charity Auction  for a list of the organizations that have received financial support from GVNC since 1989.

As a Gallatin Valley organization, we are proud members of both the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce and the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce.  Both the chambers work with tourism and offer important information for those moving to the area.
